Independence Day is only the first reason to celebrate in July. Just two weeks later comes National “Get to Know Your Customers” Day. As a business owner, you can’t afford to let this opportunity go by unnoticed.

1. Incentivize honest opinions.

The key to a heartfelt celebration in honor of your customers is the genuine relationship you have worked to forge with each of them.

When you care about customer feedback by truly listening and periodically implementing their suggestions, people will know that they occupy a position of importance with your brand.

In honor of the July event, launch an online or in-store survey where you ask clients for their suggestions on marketing directions, products to stock, and areas where you can improve. Incentivize participation by offering a reward and, most important, take what people say seriously.

After all, these customers are your most valuable assets.

2. Launch a loyalty program.

The customer management tools built into your point of sale system can give you an instant snapshot of actionable insights such as demographics, buying behaviors, payment preferences, and more.

They also give you everything you need to start a loyalty program that will reward returning buyers and help everyone to interact with your brand in a fun and positive way.

Once you have cultivated a core group of valued buyers, you can engage them in curated ways that keep them interested and may even inspire them to write positive reviews or refer their contacts to your business.

If you already have accumulated a team of dedicated clients, shower them with free product giveaways or discounts to celebrate National “Get to Know Your Customers” Day.

3. Put social media to work.

Your focus on customer experience should also be expanded to encompass the world of social media sites such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and more.

Use your point of sale system’s analytics tools to determine which sites your customers visit the most, and then concentrate on creating and frequently updating relevant textual and video content that will engage visitors, encourage them to go to your site, and even prompt them to create testimonials and other content of their own related to your store and the products you offer.

In preparation for July 19, create a buzz on social media by hosting a photo contest or asking customers to post a video of themselves using one of their favorite products from your shop. Make it a point to engage in dialogues with people who post content on your pages, keeping everything vibrant and fun.

People are attracted to things that are positive and upbeat, so don’t forget to keep the great content coming.

The festivities of July 4 may have faded away, but National “Get to Know Your Customers” Day gives you a chance to create engaging vibes and memorable fireworks of your own.

Lay the groundwork of dynamic relationships with each of your customers now, and you will reap the rewards long after summer is over.
