TROY, Michigan — North American Bancard, LLC, (NAB) a U.S.-based leader in electronic payment solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a Sustainability Certificate by Switch, the recognized world leader in sustainable data center design, development, and mission-critical operations.

NAB was awarded the sustainability Certificate for using 100% renewable energy with the Switch ecosystem. The certificate demonstrates that Switch has retired 307 Renewable Energy Credits in 2022 on behalf of NAB — six more credits than 2021. These renewable energy credits comply with Greenpeace’s principles of locality.

"Partnering with Switch has allowed North American Bancard to grow our business while prioritizing the environment by leveraging renewable energy initiatives,” said Andy Bolin, NAB’s Chief Information Officer. “We are proud of our strategy of making sustainability a critical part of our business operations and we know we share a responsibility to care for our planet. We've accomplished overwhelming success with this strategy for six years straight.”

Since January, 2016, all Switch data centers have run on 100% renewable energy. As of 2021, Switch is also zero Scope 1 emissions, and according to the company, its patented innovations in design, power, cooling, and density allow its data centers to operate with industry-leading power usage efficiency.
