Looking to upgrade your playlist? We’ve spent hours analyzing, curating, and hand-picking (OK, not really, we just chose some songs that slap) an elite selection of songs to get small business owners and entrepreneurs the extra push that is sometimes needed to get through the day.

Need a music fix right now? Start jamming out to our Spotify, or take a look at the newest additions to the Payanywhere’s Ultimate Small Business Playlist (bangers only) below:

Taylor Swift - “Shake It Off”

Taylor Swift’s "Shake It Off" may already be eight years old, but we’re still bopping to this one in 2022. As one of our guilty pleasures, we love T-Swizzle, but this song especially resonates with our entrepreneurial side. Once you have the chance to take a dance break and listen to the lyrics, Swift gets real about her personal struggles with critics and makes the point that no one is going to stop her from being herself. “Shake It Off” reminds us that no matter what negativity comes your way, don’t let it stop you from doing what you love. Whether it be a tough customer, task, or inconvenient pop-up: Shake it off! Also, maybe, more importantly, it’s never a bad time for a dance break.

Our favorite line: “Just think while you've been gettin' down and out about the liars and the dirty, dirty cheats of the world, you could've been gettin' down to this sick beat”?

Big Sean - “Bounce Back”

We might be a little biased, but we had to plug in at least one Big Sean song considering we’re headquartered in the same area he originated from. This song is dedicated to Sean’s ability to rise above taking an L. When things don’t go your way, whether you’re a famous rapper or small business owner, it’s important to not get hung up on difficult situations and keep moving forward. Big Sean puts it best, “if you a real one, then you know how to bounce back.”

Our favorite line: “Last night took a L, but tonight I bounce back.”

Post Malone ft. Quavo - “Congratulations”

We’ll change up the vibe: After getting through hardships, it’s important to acknowledge wins and celebrate. When it comes to success, this song title says it all. Congratulations is one of Malone’s most successful single releases and has had over 1.4 billion views on YouTube. Overall, Malone raps about how he had to work extremely hard to see the success he has now. He references never taking a vacation and people telling him he would amount to nothing in his past life. Now he’s got cash, champagne, and a Bentley. This song will be sure to motivate you to prove the world and all your naysayers wrong. Definitely put this one in the queue when you hit any goals and need to celebrate.

Our favorite line: “Now they always say congratulations.”

Tiësto - “The Business”

This song is perfect for getting down to business. In fact, this 2-minute-and-42-second song uses the line “let’s get down to business” 25 times throughout. Even if it is a bit repetitive, the electronic beat on this one gives off the getting-to-work vibe if the title didn’t already. We’ll press play and throw in our earbuds when we need to get some serious work done.

Our favorite line (if it wasn’t obvious already): “Let’s get down, let’s get down to business.”

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - “Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)”

This is another electronic song that will be sure to get you going. The beat starts out slow and soft at the beginning and slowly builds up until a drop and things get a little crazy. “Heads Will Roll” reminds us that things you were not expecting to deal with pop up during the day — much like how this song has a dramatic switchup. We do our best to roll with the punches when work gets disorderd. Another reason this is one of our favorites, we can picture ourselves running around getting work done to this chaotic beat.

Our favorite line: THE BEAT DROP AT 0:58.

Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet - “It's Five O' Clock Somewhere”

Time to put on some flip flops and sunscreen because you deserve a vacation. Jackson’s and Buffet’s “It's Five O' Clock Somewhere” is probably the universal anthem of summertime and vacationing. Take this as your reminder to treat yourself. Life can’t be work all the time; take the time to step away and reset. You’ll be thankful you did.

Our favorite line: “It's only half-past twelve, but I don't care. It's five o'clock somewhere.”
