We know that as a small business owner it's likely that your smartphone is permanently attached to your palm, possibly with smoke coming out of it from all the data it stores and calls it receives. Today's technology has made it easier than ever for small business owners to run their shops from their phones and tablets. Here are five mobile apps to help merchants remain as efficient as ever, even while they're on the move:

1.) Quickbooks: You've probably heard of this tool, but the mobile app lets business owners pay employees and taxes while on the go.

2.) ScheduleBase: This app lets you update schedules and send employees updates all from your phone. No more crossing out names on an old-fashioned paper schedule!

3.) Skype: Skype is perfect for businesses with employees out in the field. This free app allows users to communicate face-to-face even when one is working remotely.

4.) LinkedIn: Even if you're not actively searching for new additions to your team, you should always be on the lookout for fresh new talent. Download the LinkedIn mobile app to browse potential employees whenever you get the chance.

5.) HireVue: After you've combed through potential employees, HireVue lets applicants record video responses to interview questions that you set up ahead of time.

In addition to these business enhancing apps, don't forget the PayAnywhere app! The free PayAnywhere app is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and most Android smartphones or tablets, and gives merchants an inside look into their sales statistics and access to advanced reporting capabilities to help their businesses thrive. The PayAnywhere app also lets merchants sync their data between any piece of equipment they use, providing a consistent experience and up-to-date data regardless of how many different devices are used to process transactions.
